Tip Tuesday - Do not disturb on iPhone
Welcome back to our regular schedule of Tip Tuesday’s I hope you all enjoy Tipmas and had a great Christmas break. We are back in a national lockdown here in England, therefore I thought it would be good to kick off the year with a little support care tech tip! On your iPhone you can set “favourite” contacts, these are handy to get to quickly in the call menu, but not just that you can set your favourites to be able to cut through do not disturb on your phone. Ensuring that you can really be there to support each other at any hour of the day, whilst still cutting yourself off for your peace and quiet from the rest of the world.
To set favourites you have two ways of doing this, either go into the contact card of the person you would like to favourite, and scroll down you will see an option “add to favourites”. Or alternative open your phone app, select the star icon at the bottom to view your favourites and hit the plus button in the top left.
Now to be able to have your favourites call you even when you are on do not disturb go to settings - do not disturb - middle of the list “allow calls from” select this you will now be able to select favourites.
Why would this be helpful, let’s say you have your phone on do not disturb for a meeting but someone close to you really needs to get hold of you they still can. Equally if you turn your phone on to do not disturb at night time, your favourites are still able to call you if they need you and vice versa.
In times like these it’s important that we look out for one another but especially those close to us.
Until next Tuesday stay safe, and look out for one another.
